Pok*mon Snap!: The River (2024)

starting with the nearest one. If you stay persistent, you'll scare themdown the trail. Keep at it and the Poliwags will finally jump into theriver out of desperation to escape. Now pull the camera out and snapthe Poliwags as they leap high out of the water a few times.

(2) BULBASAUR: Pok*mon Food - Pester Ball - PokeFlute
The Bulbasaurs will be hiding on, behind, orin the logs to your left. Two of the Bulbasaurs are partially visible.TossPester Balls at them if you want them to come out into the open. Thethird Bulbasaur is sleeping entirely inside a hollow log. Even though youcan't see this Bulbasaur, tossing a Pester Ball inside the log willstill bring it out. Once these Bulbasaurs are in the clear, toss Pok*monFood to cluster them and snap the photos while they're either leapingor swaying to the side.

(3) VILEPLUME: Poke Flute
(Shot Option)
Play the first Poke Flute song to photographthe Vileplume dancing with a spin to it.

(Shot Option)
Play the third Poke Flute song to photographthe Vileplume rocking side to side to the beat.

(Best Shot Option)
Play the second Poke Flute song to photographthe Vileplume doing flips. This will earn you the "It's Rockin'"bonus.
Watch for a lonely Vulpix on your left side.Use Pok*mon Food to lure it closer toyour vehicle. When it gets nearer, you can simply snap a picture of theVulpix or take things a step further.Toss a trail of Pok*mon Food thatleads in front of you. Keep doing this far ahead of your vehicle andtry to force the isolate Vulpix to go running in front. This must be donevery early or you'll pass the Vulpix up.Further up will be two moreof its kind. Throw Pok*mon Food to the right side for all of them to munchon. Try to capture a photo of the group leaping in joy over theirmeal for highest photo score.

(4) CUBONE SIGN: Poke Flute
Look to the right for a Vileplume. First play the Poke Fluteto stop the Vileplume from blowing powder. Now while it is openly dancingand no longer interfering with the view of a mountain behind it, takea picture of this mountain that resembles the Pok*mon Cubone.

(5) SHELLDER:
The Shellder here will pop up as you nearthe signs alerting you to their presence. As Shellders emerge, theytravel in a retreating flight pattern. Also, they'll come above water whetheryou're ready or not for them. Use the Dash Engine to get to this pointearly so you'll be plenty close enough to snap their picture as theyarise. Photographing them as they rise from the water or decline intoit will earn the highest pose points.

(6) SLOWPOKE: Pok*mon Food - Poke Flute
(Shot Option)
Snap photos leisurely as you approach the Slowpoke. It won't run from you, it will just give you a blank look. If the Slowpokehappens to prop up its feet from one side it will produce a high posepoint award.

(Shot Option)
Throw Pok*mon Food from where the Slowpokemay be standing to a bald spot in the grass. These spots are also located next to the Shellder signs. If the Slowpokereaches this spot in time it will dunk its tail into the water. Snapa picture of the Slowpoke doing this for another high point inducingphoto opportunity.

(7) SLOWBRO: Pok*mon Food - Pester Ball - PokeFlute
As mentioned above, you will need to leadthe Slowpoke to a bald spot in the grass using Pok*mon Food. Do thiswell ahead of actually approaching the Slowpoke, as much time is necessaryfor it to evolve. After a Shellder bites the Slowpokes tail it becomesknown as Slowbro. It will react to music, but feeding the Slowbrowill give you the best possible picture bonus.

(8) SHELLDER:
After passing up the first Slowpoke, anotherbunch of Shellders will fly up for a pictorial opportunity. It is difficultto get a good pose from Shellders, so if you aren't messing around withthe Slowpokes then get that camera ready for snapping. Like always, theDashEngine does a good job of getting closer to the Shellder for betterpicture range. Shellder rising from the water or falling back into itgive the best pose points.

(9) PSYDUCK: Pok*mon Food - Pester Ball
When nearing the second Shellder sign, speedup a little bit using your Dash Engine. Approach but do not gettoo close to a Psyduck that is swimming along the river. Toss anitem at this duck's head to knock it under water. Now bust out thatcamera and snap like mad as the Psyduck leaps out of water. It hasthree jumping poses, yet the high spinning leap will get you the moststyle points.

(10) METAPOD: Pester Ball
Look upwards for the Metapodsto see them hanging from the trees above. Lobbing Pester Balls at theMetapods is the only way to get a close-up session with them. For anadded tip,use one of the Metapods to block your movement so youcan take your time photographing the other Metapods.

(11) PSYDUCK: Pok*mon Food - Pester Ball
The Psyduck you run into for the second timeis much harder to photograph up close than the first Psyduck. Consideringit is swimming in circles around water rocks. Try knocking it out withprojectiles to dunk it and snap a picture as it leaps out. Otherwisethe Psyduck will jump on its own accord, however you can't hold it stillto get close enough for a good shot when it does this. It is best to goafter shots of the first Psyduck instead. As with the first Psyduck, picturingit leaping with a spin gives the greatest pose points.

(12) PORYGON: Pok*mon Food - Pester Ball
After passing the second Psyduck, look to yourright. Carefully examine an empty patch of dry land, mainly againstthe wall. There are three Porygon hidden here. Their eyes give awaytheir camouflage. Throw Pester Balls at each one and they will jumpout into the open. It is then that you can take their picture forit to count. Decorate the floor with Pok*mon Food to cheer up thePorygon for great pose points and join them close together for agroup shot. Take special aim of a Pester Ball at the Pok*mon hidingin rock to make it step on the red button. Doing so will unlockThe Cave.

(13) SHELLDER:
Randomly Shellder will come out of the waterwhen nearing the end. It is a last chance to take their picture if youhaven't done so already. Don't expect to get the best pictures at thisspot. It is best just to look out for Cloysters and worry about takingShellder pictures earlier on. If you insist on taking their picturenow, do so while they're still rising or falling into the water. ProfessorOak will be kinder with the pose points for shots like these.

(14) CLOYSTER: Pok*mon Food - Pester Ball
(Shot Option)
There are no guarantees Cloyster will risefrom the water when you reach the end of this area. Nor is there away to force Cloysters out of the water. Ready your camera anyhow and youwon't be left behind for a good photo opportunity when they do emerge.Throwingobjects at the Cloysters will make them spin for an alternative styleto photograph.

(Best Shot Option)
Like with the Shellders, photographing Cloystersas they rise from the water or submerge into it will give the bestpose points.

(15) PIKACHU: Pok*mon Food - Pester Ball - PokeFlute
It doesn't take much to startle this Pikachu.Either throw an object at it or simply take its picture. Whicheveryou choose to do, just be sure to aim the camera at the opening in thelog afterwards. Snap like crazy as Pikachu comes zooming out ofthe log with a trail of sparkles trailing behind.
