New players hopping into Cyberpunk 2077 should prepare themselves for a ton of side missions. Many of these aren't automatic calls from clients straight to V, but rather markers on the map that V needs to investigate independently. Those looking for the best Cyberpunk 2077 side missions should look for question mark symbols on the map and head over to the location.

Side missions aren't obligatory, but some of them that involve major characters will influence the type of ending the player can have. However, these hidden, fun, and sometimes ridiculous side missions are bound to be both entertaining and full of great rewards if one manages to find them.

Some quests are easier to discover than others, whereas some are just a shockingly good time, with great rewards to warrant their inclusion.

40 Shape Of A Pony

Discover The Body Of A Fake Johnny Silverhand

• Location: Biotechnia Flats, Badlands
• Acquired: Purchase Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet (930) for €$74,000
• Potential Rewards: Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet (930)

Once players purchase the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet (930), they will receive a mysterious message from one of their favorite Fixer's, Muamar Reyes. This text involves the mystery around the recently purchased vehicle, and how it has disappeared, with the driver nowhere to be seen. Luckily, V receives a text of the last known location.

Venturing here, players will find a funny sight, as a Johnny Silverhand impersonator lies dead on teh floor. Players can loot this corpse and find further clues as to where their new vehicle is hiding. It's a cute quest that will see Johnny Silverhand's legacy live on.

39 Moving Heat

Sneak Into Barghest's Garage And Steal The Quadra Sport R-7 Charon Vehicle

• Location: EBM Petrochem Stadium, Dogtown
• Acquired: Complete the Firestarter mission in Phantom Liberty's campaign
• Potential Rewards: Quadra Sport R-7 Charon

If players want to get their hands on a pretty cool new ride, then they are going to need to complete Moving Heat. If players have gone through the Phantom Liberty campaign, they will recognize the Quadra Sport R-7 Charon Vehicle as a true beauty, now locked away in the garage of Barghest's infinite army. Luckily, a quick text from a netrunner is going to aid them.

Players can mess this quest up, so stealth is essential when working with this mysterious netrunner. In doing so, they will earn themselves the vehicle, which would have otherwise been unavailable if players ignored this cryptic texter, or decided to do things the loud way.

Investigate A Community-Led Mystery Still Unsolved

• Location: Biotechnia Protein Farms
• Acquired: Enter the Biotechnia Protein Farm's shack
• Potential Rewards: n/a

FF06B5 is going to throw players for a loop, as it's a true mystery that still hasn't exactly been solved all the way through. The quest itself is unmarked, and players are given mere clues rather than directions as to where to go next. If players are looking for something secret to do in Night City, trying to solve FF06B5's mystery will certainly have players wasting hours.

The puzzle has truly perplexed gamers, and the community continues to try and discover more to this quest in the in-game world. From a secluded shack, to a mysterious savior, FF06B5 will have players scratching their heads and fearing what exactly is going on in Night City.

37 Feed Teh Cat

Acquire A Pet Cat

• Location: China Town, Watson
• Acquired: Search a barrel in Megabuilding H10: Atrium for a data shard
• Potential Rewards: Nibbles the cat

Heading to Megabuilding H10: Atrium, players can take a left from their apartment door into a small alleyway where they will discover a trash can with a data shard poking out of it. This data shard simply reads "Feed teh Cat", and it's a secret unmarked quest that requires players to place a food bowl at the same location and head out into the world to come back a few hours later.

Whilst it's not the most exciting quest in the world, it will reward players with Nibbles, a hairless cat that will become V's pet. Nibbles will hang out in V's apartment, purring and meowing in V's presence. It's a cute and secret side quest worth jumping into so V's apartment gets a furless friend.

36 Voodoo Treasure

Unlock A Secret Voodoo Boys Stash For Extra Loot

• Location: The Needle, Dogtown
• Acquired: Listen to Aurore and Aymeric's conversations in I've Seen That Face Before
• Potential Rewards: 8,000 Eurodollars, Rook

Dogtown is filled with secrets, and one of them can be obtained by eavesdropping. Through Phantom Liberty's main quest I've Seen That Face Before, players can listen to Aurore Cassel and Aymeric Cassel's conversation, where they will discuss Slider. Upon dealing with the twins, players can loot a Blind_N_Dead data shard to unlock themselves a missable quest in Cyberpunk 2077.

This quest is rather simple, and it will take players to the Needle in Dogtown, where they can discover a secret stash filled with Eurodollars and other useful items from the Voodoo Boys. It's not a hard quest, and the rewards are rather nice, as who wouldn't want a new Iconic Pistol?

35 No Easy Way Out

Help Aaron Winters Out Of His Forced Boxing Career

• Location: Dogtown, Pacifica
• Acquired: Receive a text from Coach Fred
• Potential Rewards: Cheetah, Eurodollars

Night City and Dogtown are rough places, and it seems that hopes and dreams die here, and morality can be a corrupt thing. V is tasked with finding Aaron Winters, a fighter known by Coach Fred, and someone who is having a lot of trouble with the Scavengers and Animals. Aaron wants to go legit, and he wants to make a name for himself without throwing his fights, but his handlers of the Animals gang, completely disagree.

V is tasked with helping Aaron through a scav hideout so that a ripperdoc, Damir Kovac, can remove an implant that forces him to throw his fights. The Animals will soon descend to the operating room, and give V a choice: Force Aaron to take the fall in his fights, or die here and now.

34 Spy In The Jungle

Uncover A Global Conspiracy In Dogtown

• Location: Dogtown, Pacifica
• Acquired: Receive a text from Mr. Hands
• Potential Rewards: XP, Streetcred, Eurodollars, Pzidets

V receives a new gig from Mr. Hands in Pacifica, which requires them to meet the Brazilian Intelligence Agency, with agents stationed right here in Dogtown. Meeting Steven Santos and Ana Friedman, V can deduce that something is wrong, and one of their agents is missing, with his biomonitor reactivating after a period of absence. Assuming the worst, V is sent after this agent, only to discover that the Organitopia, a Dogtown jungle, is overrun with an elite SovOil unit that uses camouflage and quick reflexes.

Heading deeper into the mission, V is given the choice, and another burden of responsibility, whether or not to uncover what has happened here and to reveal the true findings of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency and SovOil. It's a global conspiracy involving multiple governments that could start a domino effect.

33 Talent Academy

Discover A Child Trafficking Ring

• Location: Dogtown, Pacifica
• Acquired: Receive a text from Mr. Hands
• Potential Rewards: XP, Streetcred, Eurodollars

Another call from Mr. Hands means business, and this time, players are tasked with infiltrating a talent academy at the Center for Neuromotor Development in Luxor Heights. At this Sports Academy, players will uncover a grizzly sight, the trafficking of children, who are forced and indoctrinated into sports careers at a young age, taking on abusive and body-altering cyberware that will forever damage them when they are older.

It's a hard sight to witness, and as players venture deeper into the off-limits facility, they will find that the children are kept in rooms, glorified cages, until some corporation buys them up to make them a "star". It's an intense mission, with plenty of secrets to uncover, and at the sheer displeasure of Johnny Silverhand.

32 Dazed And Confused

Help A Man Discover His Lost Identity

• Location:Dogtown’s Golden Pacific area
• Acquired: Text from Mr. Hands after The Damned
• Potential Rewards: Baby Boomer, Lina Malina’s T-Shirt, Malina-mobile

Mr. Hands shoots his favorite merc a text on the holo, and provides V with detailed instructions about a famed BD star that has been kidnapped in Dogtown. This abducted BD actress is an important C-list actress found in some rather unsavory Braindance productions, and V is tasked with heading in for the rescue at the BD store. That is, until they find Shank and discover that Lina isn’t kidnapped, and is just his good friend Tool who thinks he is Lina.

The mission gets weird, and it can be a lot of fun to sit back and just watch hilarity ensue. The rewards are pretty nice, but it’s seeing how messed up things can get between the two BD stars that make it an enjoyable one to watch. It’s no wonder Mr. Hands didn’t want to be involved in this. There are even a few ways to go about the mission to ensure everyone gets a happy ending.

31 Run This Town

Decide The Future Leader Of Dogtown

• Location: Heavy Hearts Club in Dogtown
• Acquired: Call from Mr. Hands after Firestarter's main mission
• Rewards: Mancinella

After dealing with the dictatorship in Dogtown, Mr. Hands decides that it’s time to get involved in the broken politics of this district and ensure that the Barghest do not drown in their own blood. Infighting becomes a major problem for Barghest after Kurt Hansen’s fate, and the only way to fix it is to decide on a new leader from the shadows. Jago, or Bennett. Mr. Hands wants Bennett to lead, and his instructions are very clear on that matter to V.

V is tasked with using their Behavioral Imprint to disguise themselves as Aguilar, a famed Cuban assassin that everyone fears. This mission involves espionage, manipulation, and deciding who gets to become the new leader of Dogtown.

30 Chippin In’

Avenge Johnny Silverhand With Rogue & Have A Personal Memorial

• Location: Watson, The Afterlife
• Acquired: Given by Johnny Silverhand after allowing him to take control of V’s body to talk to Rogue
• Rewards: Porsche 911 Turbo, Malorian Arms 3516, Johnny’s Jacket

Chippin’ In is arguably one of the best optional missions in Cyberpunk 2077. Not only will players be able to get their hands on some great rewards related to Johnny Silverhand, but they will also get to learn more about the deceased rocekrboy, and really get into his head to find out what makes him tick. This mission is essential to players who want to grow their bond with Johnny and unlock the Don’t Fear The Reaper ending.

V teams up with Rogue to hunt down Adam Smasher and his crew in order to get revenge for Johnny Silverhand all those years ago. It’s a pretty intense mission, and the fact that players can bring home some unique items and a slick car makes it all the more worth it.

29 This Corrosion

Unlock The Power Of The Blackwall

• Location: Watson, Kabuki Market
• Acquired: Receive a mysterious text after Somewhat Damaged mission
• Rewards: Militech Canto Mk.6 or Erebus

Whilst this mission may be a short one, it’s easily one of the best side jobs in Cyberpunk 2077 due to its secrecy and reward. Not many people will know about the hidden items that can be looted during the Somewhat Damaged quest from Phantom Liberty, since these requirements are locked behind the path where players betray Songbird and help Solomon Reed in the Firestarter mission. However, This Corrosion adds further mystery and power to the game.

Players are given instructions via text messages from AIs that are beyond the Blackwall. It’s scary to think that they know everything about V and instruct them to visit a Netrunner at the Kabuki Market to place the Behavioral Chip they found from the Cerberus Unit into a weapon of their choice, a weapon capable of corrupting those it touches.

28 Space Oddity

Acquire A Rare Painting

• Location: Santo Domingo, Rancho Coronado
• Acquired: Find the group of homeless men and take the corpo briefcase
• Rewards: XP, Street Cred, Untitled 18 - Brancesi, 2021

In Act 2, V can visit a gas station in Rancho Coronado and get their hands on a special laptop. The previous owner of this item is face down by a nearby dumpster and V needs to obtain it from some local bums first.

Once this has been done, however, there is the opportunity to score a famous painting that has been stored on the moon. The quest provides interesting world-building and a rare item that can be sold for more than a few eddies.

27 Happy Together

Prevent The Suicide Of One Of Night City's Few Good Cops

• Location: Watson Little China
• Acquired: Check on Barry Lewis' apartment in Megabuilding H10
• Rewards: None

Any time in Act 2 of the main story, V can visit a neighbor, Barry, in the Watson Mega Building they call home. At the behest of Barry's former NCPD co-workers, V checks on Barry to see how he's holding up.

V can speak to Barry's colleagues and call it a day, or, alternatively, they can do some digging and find out just how little anyone knows about Barry's situation and the isolation of living in a cyberpunk dystopia

26 Epistrophy

Help Delamain Rangle His "Children"

• Location: Heywood, Vista del Rey
• Acquired: Talk to Delamain
• Rewards: XP, Street Cred, 4,900 Eurodollars

Cyberpunk: 2077 deals with advanced technology that is ubiquitous and takes place in a city in which even the local cab company can be run by artificial intelligence.

This quest line starts in V's Mega Building at the beginning of Act 2 and involves chasing rogue Delemain "children," some of whom have certain familiar voices. Completing the process may invite V to question just what an AI actually is.

25 I Can See Clearly Now

Learn About A Malfunctioning / Developing AI S.C.S.M.

• Location: Westbrook, Japantown
• Acquired: Talk to the S.C.S.M. at Megabuilding H8
• Rewards: None

Outside a Mega Building in Westbrook, Japantown during Act 2 is an S.C.S.M. (Spontaneous Craving Satisfaction Machine) with a bright personality called Brendan.

While AI has advanced in the world of Cyberpunk: 2077, a vending machine AI is definitely unusual. Following this quest that it hands out is a simple process but can add a level of humor to the game that can easily be missed.

24 Sinnerman

Learn Of Joshua Stephenson, A Man Reformed

• Location: Santo Domingo
• Acquired: Accept a Gig from Wakako Okada
• Rewards: None

What starts out as a simple gig for the fixer Wakako turns into a drive with a criminal now attempting to repent his former acts and has accepted the death penalty that is due.

The difference is, however, that he is willing to be crucified and have the brain dance distributed. V can walk away at any time, but following the quest to its end may result in players hammering the nails in with their own hands.

23 The Information

Help The Dolls Of Night City Revolt Against Their Abusers

• Location: Watson, Kabuki
• Acquired: Talk to Dexter DeShawn
• Rewards: None

V meets Judy as part of the main quest line and following up with her in Act 2 lets them both find Evelyn Parker, V's contact for the gig in Act 1.

What starts out as an investigation to find someone can turn into a revolution of dolls, people who provide whatever a client needs in exchange for money. With V's help, however, these dolls will have a chance of working for themselves instead of an uncaring gang.

22 I Fought The Law

Uncover A Mayoral Conspiracy With River Ward

• Location: Heywood, Chubby Buffalo's BBQ
• Acquired: Get a call from Elizabeth Peralez after Life During Wartime
• Rewards:Peralez Campaign poster and River Ward questline

If V pays attention in Act 1 while in Konpeki Plaza, they can witness a conversation between Mayor Rhyne and Arasaka representatives that becomes significantly more relevant to a questline that occurs later in Act 2.

Investigating the death of Mayor Rhyne can lead down an intriguing path of betrayal, and greed, allowing V to get close to the detective investigating the case and their family. It's also one of the best side quests in Cyberpunk 2077 and is well worth checking out.

21 Over The Edge

Learn What Happened To David Martinez & The Edgerunners

• Location: Santo Domingo, Arroyo
• Acquired: Approach green graffiti next to Megabuilding H4
• Rewards: David's Jacket

Near a Mega Building in Santo Domingo, V can find some unusual graffiti that resembles the markings on the back of Edge Runner David Martinez's jacket.

A nearby brain dance lets V watch a scene from the hit Netflix series and learn what it means and what happened to at least one former member of David's crew. It's a nice little tie-in and serves as an Easter Egg of sorts for fans of the franchise.
