New Honkai: Star Rail 2.4 leaks about the character known as Yunli detail her alleged gameplay kit, which hints at a promising set of skills. Even though the turn-based RPG is still at the start of Version 2.3, the beta for the next patch has started and, with it, an influx of information is starting to be shared. Officially, for now, HoYoverse has announced Yunli as one of the confirmed 5-star characters for Version 2.4 alongside Jiaoqiu. The highly rumored new March 7th form in Honkai: Star Rail has also been confirmed.
Now, with the leaks coming from the beta tests, players are able to get a better perspective on how these three characters will work. According to information obtained by the leaker known as HomDGCat, which was then shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit, Yunli’s entire gameplay kit has been leaked. As has already been confirmed, Yunli will be a Physical character who follows the Path of the Destruction, making her a DPS with higher survivability – she does, however, seem to have an exciting mechanic in Honkai: Star Rail.

Yunli’s Leaked Kit In Honkai: Star Rail Shows Her Ability To Counter Attacks
The Character’s Leaked Counter Mechanic Is Considered A Follow-Up Attack
As seen in the leaked Talent’s description, Yunli allegedly has a Counter mechanic that allows her to immediately launch an attack on an opponent that strikes her, dealing damage to them and to adjacent targets. This Counter mechanic also appears in her leaked Ultimate, which triggers the Block state, where it can transform into two different versions, Intuit: Cull, and Intuit: Slash. The former is an enhanced form of the Counter mechanic in Yunli’s leaked kit in Honkai: Star Rail 2.4, dealing more damage with her Counter and triggering extra instances of DMG.

The latter only activates when her Counter is not triggered under her Block state, and sees her use the same effect from Intuit: Cull, but without the extra instances of DMG. According to the leak, the rumored Counter attack used by Yunli is considered a follow-up attack. Her leaked Passives also boost her resistance when in the Block state and increase her ATK while using a Counter. This leaked Counter mechanic is not exactly new to Honkai: Star Rail, but it may be the first time a character is fully dedicated to its usage in their gameplay kit.
Furthermore, Yunli’s rumored Counter skill also seems to lean into the game’s current devotion toward follow-up attacks. This combat mechanic has been in the spotlight for quite some time and is gaining even more strength over the past few patches with new characters and equipment that is fully dedicated to improving its performance. As such, it is quite possible that Yunli’s release may be a way of ending Dr. Ratio’s reign as the main DPS for follow-up attack teams in Honkai: Star Rail. Currently, the meta for follow-up attack team comps is quite restricted.
Dr. Ratio is used as the main DPS, supported by Topaz as the sub-DPS, and Robin as the support. Jade’s release brings forth a new sub-DPS possibility, but there is still a lack of a new main DPS.
For now, however, these Yunli leaks should be taken with a grain of salt. While the information and the leaker are reliable, details are subject to change and, even if the details are correct, it is uncertain how Yunli’s leaked abilities will translate into true gameplay value. Nevertheless, the prospect of a new main DPS to use in follow-up attack team comps in Honkai: Star Rail is extremely positive, and the counter mechanic seems genuinely fun to use.
